Here at Extraordinary Smile, our various levels of dental sedation will help you relax and get the dental care you need.  If you have dental anxiety and fear, or you’re having a oral surgical procedure that may require deep sedation, we can help you stay comfortable and calm throughout the procedure process.

A high percentage of the people here in the U.S. are suffering from tooth loss, gum disease, and various infections with their teeth and gums because they suffer from dental phobia.  Most are unaware that there are various levels of sedation dentistry that will make their visit a relaxing one.

The Levels of Dental Sedation We Provide Here in Palo Alto Are:

Oral Conscious Sedation

This method involves using Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) and is used when very light levels of sedation are recommended. The next level is taking a pill an hour prior to your visit, and having someone drive you to and from our office.  Both of these methods work very well for those who will need a low to moderate amount of relaxation to easily get through the dental visit.

IV Intravenous Sedation

Intravenous dental sedation is generally used for more complex procedures such as Wisdom Teeth (Third Molar) removal or for those with very high levels of anxiety and fear.  Administered directly into the blood stream by our certified anesthesiologist, if at any time during the procedure you need to be more relaxed, our anesthesiologist can easily administer more medication which will have an instantaneous effect.
